Previously on LOST: "Are you INSANE?!?!"

Yes, Jack.....I am.

And hopefully so are all of you (in a good way) after the teriffic, mind-blowing Season 4 opener entitled "The Beginning of the End."

Hmmm, I just got a little sad typing that. It IS the beginning of the end for us LOSTies. What am I going to write about when this amazing show ends? American Idol? Nahhh, too easy. The Office? Possibly, but the episodes have nowhere near the stuff I need to over-analyze about. Heroes? Is that show even on anymore??? Unfortuantely, I realize that I will probably never find another show quite like this....and so I should be thankful for what we have now.

OK! Enough of the pouty-pouts and general melancholy vibe I'm puttin' out here. Let's get down to business!!!!

First off, before the premiere, I was wondering how the creators would initially blow our minds this year. Season 1 it was the thrilling beach/post-crash scenes. Season 2 it was the mysterious figure in the hatch. Season 3 it was the camera pulling back to reveal the Leave it to Beaver-esque community where the Others hatched their plans to infiltrate the survivors. I could only hope that the Season 4 opener gave me that same "wow factor." And it did. And much like the rest of the episode, it was the dialogue that gave me the most chills: "Don't you know who I am?? I'm one of the Oceanic 6! I'M ONE OF THE OCEANIC SIIIIXXXXXXX!!!!!! (I guess now we know why we saw those 6's flashing briefly in some of the promos).

As I mentioned, the dialogue was some of the best ever. While this episode didn't have a lot of action, per say, but it was so tense and exciting because of the highly cryptic words being spoken by such characters as Hurley, Jack, Charlie(!), and the "Oceanic Airlines employee" who came to visit Hurley in the loony bin (more on him later). Many times, just a few simple words ("Are they alive?") or even a single word ("it")....as in "it wants us to come back" gave me a whole lot to think about for this season and beyond.

Speaking of thinking (and of course...over-thinking), here is my list of the top questions I have been kicking around in my head since watching it. Ok, and I admit it: re-watching it too. Here goes, starting with Number Four:

4. WHO are the Oceanic Six? We know Hurley, Kate, and Jack made it back...but who are the other 3? I think the only few we can rule out because they were never on the plane when it crashed would be Desmond, Juliet and Ben (I'd be amazed if he made it through this season alive). Everybody else: your guess is as good as mine. And why does Hurley tell Jack he "should've gone with their group instead"? Clearly he is safe (although not very sane) yet he is compelled to apologize to Jack and shortly thereafter tells a pre-bearded Jack "we have to go back." My god my head is spinning! What happened to those still on the island? Are they being held captive? Are they alive?-----which brings me to........

8. The strange fellow in the mental ward. His name: Matthew Abbadon. His game: scaring the beejeesus outta Hurley. Wow. I suspect we'll be seeing him again. Clearly he is there for much more sinister purposes then he had stated. Combine this with the fact that the Oceanic 6 are not allowed to discuss what happened on the island, and you have the makings of some sort of huge cover-up/evil plan being masterminded....but by who?

15. Who was sitting in the chair in Jacob's shack? Many think it was Jack's dad and I was one of those who thought it might be but after a second viewing and countless screenshots, I'm not entirely sure..... AND, that was NOT Jack's dad's eye that spooked Hurley away from the cracked window. So who's was it? Hmmmm. Also, after Hurley ran off, the shack had moved! Is this just Hurley's (and cue the Ghetto Boys song here) "mind playin' tricks on him"? He sure wished it away easily only to paid a visit soon after by the infamous......

16. John Locke! Why....there you are! I guess he's got his reasons for doing what he did but he's still got a lot fences to mend as far as the rest of the survivors are concerned. And whoa, when Jack not only pointed the gun 2 inches from his face but actually (gasp!) pulled the trigger! Ultra cool. I guess they have some things to talk about...if their paths ever cross again. Which you know they will sooner...or later. Locke is obviously a new man...or is he just a more extreme version of the old...uhhh, new post-crash Locke. Despite his strange behavior, he remains one of the most fascinating actors to watch.

23. Are the Others still on their way to the Temple? If you remember from last season, Ben instructed his people to head to the Temple because danger was coming to the island. Can they possibly know that their leader has been held captive? Hmmm, why do I feel that we will be seeing Mikhail again very soon? That is, if he survived the underwater explosion. Oh c'mon, he's Mikail....he's got like 6 more lives left! I suspect he is/will be observing the action on the island and will be aware of the situation very soon. Ok....mind spinning.........need...to.........rest....

And we're back.

42. The biggie: who are the people on the freighter? Why do they want to come here so bad? Are they really bringing danger to the island like Ben said? What makes them so frightening to him? It looks like we will get more of an idea who they are tomorrow night. Yeah! TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!

THANK GOD IT'S (ALMOST) THURSDAY!!!!!!

TONIGHT....TONIGHT.....

THE SEASON FINALE OF

LOST!!!!!!!!

Yes, I realize I haven't posted in a while (school...school...and more school!) but now that I'm finally done, I can't wait to post more than I have been. Wait, you ask.....but the season is over! Never mind that, I'm sure tonight's episode will give us tons of stuff to keep us busy the whole summer long.

This season has been fantastic, and I love how they amped up the action and drama the latter half of the season. Starting from the wickedly fantastic "Expose", every episode has just...been....great.

There are rumors out there of this episode changing LOST forever after tonight. I'm exploding with excitement right now! Yup, exploding. Last night on Jimmy Kimmel, "Hurley" was on and he said that after they shot this episode he was so shell-shocked he drove home in stunned silence the whole way.

Wow. If that doesn't make you rub your hands together furiously in anticipation, well....I just don't know what to say.

9:00 TONIGHT!!!!

Tonight...

we find out how Locke ended up in one of these:

wc2

Excitingly awesome! The Locke back-stories have always been consistently fantastic...this one likely won't disappoint either.

My guess on how he got paralyzed: slipped on a banana peel. A DHARMA banana peel!
